It’s funny how you can find yourself in situations that, on the surface, are nothing out of the ordinary but on the surface they are anything but. These situations aren’t what we expect to happen when we are disabled, and we may not even realize it. I have spent way too much time trying to not make the next mistake that could have been avoided with more awareness.

Yes, you’ve heard it before. We are the disabled, and it’s not always obvious what happens when we don’t take care of ourselves. That’s why most people don’t know that they are disabled until it is too late. When we become aware of our limitations, we should seek out help from a professional so that we can maintain the same level of health and function we had before.

In this case, being aware is not easy. Many of us are too busy trying not to cause permanent damage to ourselves to pay full attention to our surroundings. We are so attached to our “self” that we forget that there is a world outside of our own personal bubble. Being aware of our own limitations is like being self aware of our own mortality.

Self awareness is a topic that always interests me because it seems so difficult to achieve. I’m glad to see that there are groups working on it. I’m also glad to see that most people can succeed at it. For example, I was on a team that wanted to create a service for those that are blind. After getting all the grants and the support of the city, we were able to build the first of many prototype “eye-tracking” systems.

I think the same idea can be applied to how we look at things if we are to achieve self awareness. I think it would be nice to be able to wear blindfold and be able to read Braille. I think it would also be nice to be able to use a cane, but to have to use it in a way that doesn’t take away from the beauty of the world around us. All this because I’m being honest.

Self awareness should be about being able to change, not about being able to have special powers, however. As it stands now, we can only achieve self awareness through the use of the self-aware ability to accept the limitations of our own body. By the end of the game, we will be forced to wear body cameras to get around. It would be nice to be able to use our body as a tool for self awareness, however.

Being able to change is the main goal of self-awareness, but it’s a hard task. I believe the one thing that changes the most for me is when I accept that I have limits to my body. Some days I think I can run forever, however, I can only run for so long before I start to wobble. Being able to accept that and learn to use it is what makes me feel like I’m in control.

The video below of Way is a great example of how to accept your limits and learn to use them. It’s a great step in the right direction. We all have limits to our ability to do certain things, but they should be used as the tools we use to not only learn about ourselves, but make life better for ourselves and others.

I’m not sure how many of us know about the concept of “limiting beliefs”, but the idea is that you have a certain belief or belief pattern that is a part of your identity. While the word can be used to describe a belief that is not supported by evidence, the idea is that your beliefs are a part of who you are.

A belief is a pattern of thinking that is established by you in your mind. It can be as simple as “I believe that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow” or “I believe that the sun will rise in the east today” or maybe even “I am a woman that can stand up straight and walk.” The idea is that these patterns lead to different patterns in our behavior, and that these different patterns lead to different outcomes.
