The clubhouse is an informal gathering place, usually used for social events, such as weddings, birthdays, and graduations. The reason for the name was to get a sense of this community’s culture, which is also what the clubhouse’s main function is: to spread the word. It was originally a sort of clubhouse for the “oldies of the church” but it was later acquired by the church through the church’s current founder, the Reverend John B. B. Bohn, one of the most respected members of the church.
Bohn and Bohns church has been around for a long time, but the idea of a dedicated clubhouse is new. At first Bohns idea was for the clubhouses to be open to anyone who wanted to use it but after his first year of operation the church decided the clubhouses was a bit too much of a distraction for the regular congregation.
As I understand it, the churchs clubhouses are a different kind of clubhouse. They are not just a clubhouse-like area where you can hang out or drink or have a social time with other people. Instead they are a place where you can be completely alone. The churchs clubhouses are a place where you can be left alone to enjoy God’s creation, and you can be left alone to have fun while God’s creation is being created.
I don’t mean to sound snarky here, but the clubhouses on clubhouse is actually the first thing that gets me.
So to those of you who are confused, I’m not trying to be snarky here. I’m talking about the fact that for the first time in my life, I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m not sure what I am doing. And I’m having a blast because I’m not alone in the clubhouses on clubhouse. I have a family of my own.
